Tear 4 pieces of aluminum foil large enough to wrap each sandwich well.
On top of each piece of foil, assemble sandwich with 2 oz. of ham, 1 slice of cheese, and any other ingredients you’d like to add. Wrap sandwich completely in foil. Repeat for each sandwich.
To cook, place sandwiches over hot coals or on a grill rack until hot—about 20 minutes, depending upon the temperature of your fire. Let cool slightly, carefully unwrap—and eat.
